Meet the Dignity Consulting Team

We're John Krownapple and Floyd Cobb, founders of the ideas behind Dignity Consulting.

Dr. Floyd Cobb and John Krownapple have a combined 35 years of experience in education and organizational development. Together, they’re co-authors of the book Belonging Through a Culture of Dignity: The Keys to Successful Equity Implementation.

John Krownapple

Author, Consultant

John Krownapple is passionate about education, learning, and helping people reach their full potential. Whether teaching, writing, speaking, or facilitating professional learning, he helps leaders and educators explore the conditions that help people thrive. John began his career as an elementary school teacher in Howard County, Maryland, in 1996, after earning a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. He later earned his master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Loyola College in Maryland. Over the years, he has served as a district-level curriculum specialist, professional development facilitator, organizational development administrator, and a college adjunct professor. Additionally, he has authored articles and books, most notably Belonging Through a Culture of Dignity (2019), co-authored with Floyd Cobb, and Teaching with Dignity (2025), co-authored with Floyd Cobb and Summer Snyder. Since 2014, John has partnered with numerous schools and districts as an educational consultant, and in 2020, he cofounded Dignity Consulting LLC.

Floyd Cobb

Floyd Cobb, PhD, is an accomplished educator with over 25 years of leadership across the early childhood through higher education continuum. He has served as a teacher, school leader, district curriculum leader, and statewide policy implementer. As the Associate Commissioner of Student Learning at the Colorado Department of Education, Floyd managed the implementation of complex statewide education initiatives, including K–3 literacy, standards revision, special education, student discipline, universal preschool, and English language development. He earned a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver, where he has been an adjunct faculty member since 2011. Floyd teaches courses on educational policy and social inequality. In 2017, he received the Ruth Murray Underhill Teaching Award for Excellence, which is presented annually to one adjunct faculty member at the university.

Summer Snyder

Author, Consultant

Summer Snyder is dedicated to fostering inclusive and equitable classrooms and schools. With more than 20 years of specialized experience supporting differentiated instruction, she has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and the Differentiation Coordinator for a district serving more than 55,000 students across eight municipalities in Denver, Colorado. Summer currently works as an independent consultant, leading a range of professional learning and development initiatives focused on helping schools build the capacity to meet diverse needs through inclusive environments where all students and staff feel a sense of belonging through dignity. Summer’s work has earned her multiple accolades, including the Golden Heart Award, the Excellence Award for Organizations, the Superintendent Making a Difference Award, and the 2023 Teacher of the Year for Cherry Creek Schools. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education, and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
